Why to choose Induction Kits for Air filters?

by on Apr.28, 2013, under Car Accessories

Induction Kit of a vehicle is used to filter the air which gets into the engine. Such filters are made out of paper and the main purpose of these filters is to filter the dust and dirt from air, thus helping the engine to perform well. It also reduces the noise of the engine and the performance of the engine is boosted up.
For the movement of your car, fuel is not the one factor necessary, as most of us think. It actually needs fuel, sparks and some amount of air. The air with oxygen is taken into the engine and with the help of the drops of fuels which is ignited with the spark of the battery of the car that helps the piston to move. This will ultimately make the car move.
Thus it is essential for the engine of the car to use a lot of air or oxygen for its movement. Air with more amounts of dirt and dust can only decrease the performance of the car. Hence it is essential to fix an air filter to the piston part of the car’s engine. Air filter with a large diameter can help the engine to take more oxygen. It is essential to keep the air filter spic and span, as a clean filter alone can help you increase the car’s performance.
Purpose of induction kits
Use of Induction kits instead of air filter and air box is mainly recommended. This is because induction kit takes in more amount of cool air. Moreover, cool air has a larger amount of oxygen, which is essential for the smooth running of the engine.
An induction kit is cone shaped with brackets and pipe ready to be fit into any car. An induction kit of high quality lasts longer and it has to be noted that they last even better than air filters. They can be washed, cleaned and even oiled for getting a better span of life. With the help of an induction kit, you car can get that sporty roaring sound which most of us love.

Here are some tips to help you save fuel and cut down your running costs.
Smart Way To Save Fuel
Always drive your car at lower speeds as the car consumes a lot more fuel when you are speeding around with the pedal to the metal. A reduction of speed from 200 km/h to 160 km/h is said to reduce fuel consumption by up to 50%. Use air conditioning smartly. Air conditioning increases the fuel consumption by 20% and you can roll down your windows when the weather outside is fine. Don’t have stuff that you don’t need in the car. Things that add weight to the car and are not of any use to you should be taken off the car as weight does affect fuel consumption. Do regular maintenance of your car and change the air filter and fuel filters promptly when needed to and save on fuel.
Using High Octane Gas
People have a misconception that using premium fuel can increase the gas mileage of your car. If your car does not require high octane fuel, then you can opt for lower octane fuel and it will not make a difference to your car’s fuel consumption. On the contrary you will save hundreds of dollars by switching over to low octane fuels as premium fuels are far more expensive than regular fuels. Check the owner’s manual to find out the lowest octane level fuel that is required for your car and stick to that.
